It Begins

At the start.

Well, this isn’t really the start. This is the re-birth of my old blog. A blog about me, a 25 year old girl who moved to Essex to work in a supermarket and live with her boyfriend.

I’m 28, my boyfriend is now my husband. I still work in a supermarket.

I thought about starting a whole new blog, but it got way too complicated way too fast. And I like the posts I made here. I wish I had made more of them. I always intended to but life got in the way and I forgot, or got lazy. The point is I didn’t want to delete what I’d written here from history. So if you’re here you might as well read what I was writing in 2012, some of it’s all right.

Now for the real reason for the re-birth.

I bought a sewing machine.

I used a sewing machine once, for 12 weeks, when I was 13 years old. For one term in my Home Economics class, we were taught to sew. I say taught to sew, what I mean was we were told to pick up a sewing machine, take it to a corner of the room, quickly given a lesson in how it worked – ‘There is a peddle at your foot, press it, and it will start, here endeth the lesson’ – and told for the next 12 weeks we would be making a puppet character of our own creation for our drama class, where we would eventually put on a puppet show. It should have been a fun class. I was excited when I learned that we were being taught to sew. It slowly turned into a mind-numbing process of stitching some pieces of felt to more pieces of felt and learning nothing of how a sewing machine actually works.

So, I am forgetting that ever happened and I’m saying from this point on, I’ve never used a sewing machine before.
